DESCRIPTION OF WORK

You will serve as the Employee Relations Coordinator (ERC) and Human Resource Employee Safety Coordinator for the Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services (BJJS) for a complement of over 750 positions. You are expected to actively coordinate and discharge employee relations, performance management, and safety functions within the BJJS program offices which includes the Southeast Youth Development Center (Montgomery County) and the Western Secure Treatment Unit (WSTU), which is a contracted facility. You will work with a mid-level of independence to maintain comprehensive employee relations programs with the following unions: AFSCME, SEIU Local668, SEIUHC, FOSCEP, OPEIU, PDA, and UGSOA. This involves a mid-level of professional contact with regional bargaining unit representative and business agents in conjunction with the Human Resource Analyst 3.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Work times will be flexible.

  • Travel as necessary to the 5 facilities within BJJS.

  • Overtime may be required as needed.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Loysville, Perry County.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Human Resource Analyst 1 including six months in the area of the parenthetical; or

  • One year of experience in the performance of professional human resource duties, including six months of experience in the area of the parenthetical; and a bachelor's degree; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
