Position : Accounting Manager

Location : Ohio, OH

Job Purpose

Assists with complex accounting tasks including researching, resolving, recording, and documenting technical accounting issues. Also, plays an integral role in the day-to-day month-end and year-end close process.

Attendance is required in this position.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in month-end close and reconciliation process (25%)

  • Prepare and review routine month-end entries and schedules

  • Prepare and review various requests from internal and external auditors

  • Research various revenue and expense items during the month as needed

  • Lead process improvement projects surrounding the close and accounting processes

  • Cross-train and document accounting tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead monthly fixed asset process including setup of fixed assets and preparation of various schedules needed for monthly reporting; manage fixed assets requests from tax department and ensure requests are prepared timely (10%)

  • Provide analysis for the finance dept as needed (20%)

  • Manage/oversee AR and AP process and employees (25%)

  • Perform various accounting research, as well as prepare related accounting memos; other miscellaneous special projects as requested (20%)

Experience

  • 6 to 7 years of experience

Education

  • Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • CBA preferred

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of accounting procedures, GAAP, internal controls, and accounting principals required

  • Ability to manage complex tasks with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management required

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and perform multiple tasks (including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end)

  • Intermediate to advanced skills level in excel, word-processing, and outlook

  • Knowledge of Great Plains software a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads work teams (assigns, coordinates, and checks work) for employees performing similar work
