Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

This individual will be the product expert for supported third party applications and integration. This person is responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with application owners, Marshfield Clinic Health System/Information System (MCHS/IS) resources, and software vendors. The Applications Analyst- Security assumes primary responsibility for the management of supported applications and the interfacing with our customers, power users or subject matter experts, including all issues with application software, questions on best practices, integration with departmental workflows, technical capabilities, planned upgrades, deployment and problem identification/support. They will have an ongoing responsibility for one or more applications within a line of business or across multiple lines of business. This person may function as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager on selected projects, application refreshes, new software releases, scheduled maintenance, or general system upgrade activity for supported systems, as well as participate as an application area expert on new applications project teams.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related technical field; or

  • Associate Degree in an Information Technology field plus 4 years of relevant work experience; or

  • Associate Degree in an Information Technology field plus 2 years of relevant work experience and a current industry or technology certification.

  • 8 years of relevant work experience AND currently hold an industry or technology specific certification.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required:

  • Demonstrated competency with installing, supporting and managing applications in an enterprise environment.

  • Demonstrated competency in tools and best practices to maintain systems in a Microsoft operating systems based virtual environment.

  • Demonstrated competency with installation, configuration and maintenance of enterprise client/server applications.

Preferred/Optional:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, and Microsoft Project software.

  • Formal training in systems analysis or project management.

  • Three years’ general security experience.

  • Two years’ of experience in a health care setting.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Vendor certifications as needed.
