Integer Galway partners with leading medical device manufacturers to develop minimally invasive solutions for peripheral & neurovascular applications. The organization is going through an exciting phase, experiencing significant growth and expanding its solutions offerings. As a result there is an opportunity for an enthusiastic R&D Engineer to join our team and support product development projects from concept to commercialization. This position will give the candidate an opportunity to work on a variety of projects, engage directly with customers while developing their own professional skills and expertise.
Operating as part of R&D & cross functional teams developing minimally invasive guidewires and devices
Involvement in key project phases from concept to commercialization
Translate user needs into product designs and specifications
Manage critical project deliverables to ensure successful execution of projects on time and budget
Lead or support design verification and process validation activities including development of test protocols, risk assessment, coordination of test builds, analysis of test data
Prepare product documentation, specifications, engineering test reports & other documentation for design history records and technical files
Support regulatory submissions as required
Work with operations and support scale up from R&D to manufacturing
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Material Science.
3-5 years’ experience in a similar medical device environment.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE: Requires expended conceptual knowledge in own discipline and demonstrates appetite to broadens capabilities.
BUSINESS ACUMEN: Understands key business drivers within own function balanced with working knowledge of medical device industry
LEADERSHIP: Provides informal guidance to team members as required.
PROBLEM SOLVING: Demonstrates sound engineering judgement & utilizes innovative solutions to solve problems.
IMPACT: Impacts the achievement of team goals and objectives
CHARACTERISTICS : Be a highly motivated self starter, dynamic, appetite to learn & grow, good team player
COMMUNICATION & INTERACTION: Clear communication skills with ability to explains complex information in a complex manner
OTHER: Knowledge of engineering theories, methods and work measurement techniques.
Knowledge of techniques and tools for development of products and processes is an advantage e.g. DoE, statistical techniques, sampling size, six sigma, minitab etc..
Proficiency and experience in 2D and 3D CAD Modelling using Solidworks or equivalent is an advantage.
