Finance Analyst - Plant Operations

Contract Role:

This is a 12 month contract for Maternity Cover.

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Finance Teams are tasked with conducting economic research, analyzing profit-and-loss income statements, and preparing reports to present findings and recommendations to management. They engage in forecasting, analyzing sales and finance trends, and developing financial models for scenario planning to facilitate future business decisions.

The primary objective of this role is to offer Operations Finance, Costing, and Analytical support to the TE Medical Galway Site. Responsibilities include focusing on costing, variance analysis, monthly close, spend control, forecasting, inventory analysis, reporting, process improvements, and addressing ad hoc requests as they arise.

Key Duties:

  • Providing finance support to all three Business Units on the Galway site.

  • Completing required close activities.

  • Conducting detailed spend analysis, reporting, and reviews with budget owners.

  • Performing variance analysis and reporting standard cost P+L variances.

  • Assisting in capital spend analysis and supporting the closure of CERs (Capital Expenditure Requests) and capitalizing spend.

  • Participating in preparatory work for the Quarterly and Annual Forecasting Process.

  • Collaborating with the Continuous Improvement Team to identify, evaluate, and approve Cost Saving projects.

  • Coordinating and completing the Annual Cost Roll, working closely with support teams for input and participation.

  • Developing, standardizing, and continuously improving work processes for efficiency.

  • Acting as the on-site point of contact for the production plants team.

  • Participating in preparatory work for budgeting, monthly and annual financial statements, as well as result consolidation.

  • Implementing regular business/performance reports for the production plants, including analysis, commentary, reporting, forecasts, and area-specific KPIs.

What your background should look like:

  • Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, or CIMA).

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3 years of experience working with manufacturing plant P&L and Balance Sheet accounts, preferably in the medical manufacturing industry.

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems, with SAP experience considered a plus.

  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Sound analytical and conceptual skills, with a high affinity for numbers.

  • Strong process understanding and a high level of service orientation.

  • Initiative-driven, reliable, and target-oriented approach to work.
