A Crane Operator utilizes overhead cranes to move large generator rotors (15 to 200 tons) throughout various steps of the production process.

HowYou’ll Make an Impact

• Safelyrig, lift, transport, and load generator rotors onto fixed stands, rollerstands, and machines, such as lathes and horizontal boring mills.

• Regularlyinspect lifting equipment

• Assistwith mechanical hand skills tasks in other work areas of the departmentsuch as rotor winding, assembly, and balance on an as needed basis.

• Engage in continuous improvement byapplying 5S methodology as a component of a Lean production system.

WhatYou Bring

• Musthave high school diploma or equivalent

• Abilityto obtain a critical lift crane operation license.Previous experience is preferred.

• Abilityto obtain fork truck license.Previousexperience is preferred.

• Successful applicants must be able to passstandard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.

• Mustalso be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or writteninstructions in English.

• Must be able to live and work legally inthe United States.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.

The Large Generator Rotor Operations team is responsible for manufacturing large electric generator rotors weighing up to 200 tons. We operate within the Large Generator team to supply new 150 – 1000 megawatt generators to power plants all over the world. In addition to manufacturing new rotors, we also service generator rotors by providing inspections, rewinds, modernizations, and upgrades.
