MAJOR FUNCTIONS The Plant Supplier Quality Engineer will support the Assembly Process and Purchasing Teams by driving the development of a part certification program and supplier quality measures. Develop, plan, and drive the implementation of prevention-based quality controls to facilitate continuous reductions in purchase part variations and defects. Manage and develop the quality system associated with ensuring the conformance of incoming material and the disposition of non-conforming material. Assist in the creation, implementation, and management of a Corrective Action System to create a quality culture and improve customer satisfaction. Ensure the quality of the machines assembled at Nilfisk meet or exceed all customer expectations. Quickly and effectively act when non-conformances are found. The person will partner closely with various cross functional teams to enable operational success, ensure supplier corrective action, and improve process & customer quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Quality Management System Create and maintain and continuously improve IQC process, work instructions (ICI), test procedures and support development of SOPs, Write product test procedures, work instructions, as required, and keep them maintained, Carry out internal product or process audits, (ISO, LPA), support regional internal audit program, Contribute to develop and maintain PFMEA/Control Plan for IQC elements, Promote the use of continuous improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) as applicable. New Product / Solution Development / Sourcing project support: Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products (NPI, NPD/NSD) or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements, Participate in New Product/Sourcing projects to ensure key characteristics on purchased parts or products are defined and communicated to the supplier, Identify and communicate purchased parts or products with historical quality issues to prevent propagation into new products, Ensure Incoming Control Instructions (ICI) are developed for new parts, Ensure First Article inspections and the evaluation are made in line with project (Sourcing, NPD/NSD) expectations. Supplier Quality Assurance / Incoming Quality Control: Handling Customer Claims (TFR) that believed caused by purchased parts, drive resolution of the problem with supplier through SCAR process, verify actions at supplier as required, Providing feedback on customer claims to operation workforces, Support the development and implementation of the IQC process to define, manage and improve vendor quality at the site level, Ensure measures and goals for purchased part or product quality in line with global/regional guideline and communicate them regularly to Suppliers and Supplier Quality Development Team to drive continuous improvement, Responsible for the current DMT/SCAR process and coordinating with Supplier Quality Development Team and suppliers to establish corrective action and minimize QA inventory. Drive the implementation of a part certification process (First Article, PPAP) at the site level to reduce internal inspection costs and manage time. Provide early warning reports on new purchased part or product issues, Representative to ensure awareness to known purchased part or product quality issues. Ensure ECO implementation is in accordance with First Article (FA), PPAP or part certification process. Visit supplier, conduct supplier audits, Support alignment between supplier capability and design requirements, Support timely troubleshooting on purchased part or product quality. Perform or lead root cause analysis on purchased part quality issues and work issue through permanent solution phase of corrective action process. Generate CA document (SCAR - 8D) on purchased part or product quality issues. Communicate and instruct suppliers on the use of a corrective action process (SCAR) nd quality tools & techniques. Ensure timely closure of SCAR in line with Nilfisk requirements. Ensure data capture and reporting systems for KPIs (IQC: DPPM, COQ: cost of vendor non-conforming part) are used to allow the management of purchased part quality, Prepare and maintain KPI reports, monitor performance on regular basis, Manage vendor non-conforming material, through MRB (Material Review Board) process, Quarantine area, including claim, cost recovery, scrap and disposition tasks, Establish sorting, rework activities in case of necessity, coordinate the execution, Take active part of continuous improvement activities, (e.g.: KAIZEN). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: MS or BS degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Automotive, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology. The position requires 10-15% travel. EXPERIENCE 3+ years' production quality and/or supplier quality experience 3+ years' experience in use of quality examination, planning, validation tools such as APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC & PPAP. Previous experience in a high-volume assembly/manufacturing environment. Experience of working in Quality Assurance Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills. Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems & components Proficient in quality tools such as 8D, SPC, PFMEA. Strong problem-solving skills with ability to teach basic problem-solving techniques and facilitate problem solving team events. Experience in managing part certification processes and vendor quality measures. Strong engineering dissection skills. Strong communication, presentation, and team skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-motivated with a high level of initiative. Strong data review and reporting skills. Able to supervise and facilitate cross functional teams. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient in use of MS Office software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred). Ability to learn new software packages, as needed.
