Organization Leadership:Advocates for the organizations mission and the students it serves. Acts as a visionary and a strategic leader who can work effectively with representatives from academia, industry and government as well as K-12 students and teachers.Takes responsibility for achieving the organizations strategic priorities and ensuring operational execution. Responsible for achieving measurable outcomes.Inspires students and introduces them to a variety of pathways within the engineering profession. Recognizes key benefits of student engagement in STEM programs, especially for students belonging to underrepresented groups. Ensures students have the tools and information they need to make informed decisions about higher education and to pursue their college aspirations.Represents the organization to federal, state and private agencies and organizations.Build relationships throughout the state by attending regional events and engaging with TAME volunteers. Collaborates with corporate donors to secure funding for the organization.In consultation with Board Chair or specific board committees, prepare agendas, reports, documents and gather information and plan for board meetings, conferences and training sessions.Program Development and Administration:Ensures the organization has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission, and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.Provides leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans with the Board of Directors and staff, and carries out plans and policies authorized by the board.Facilitates active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the organization's work.Maintains official records and documents and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations.Provides assistance to the Board of Directors and committee administrative services as needed to achieve objectives (e.g. Arranging meetings and agenda, maintaining minutes, and follow-up on action items).Maintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the STEM programming and non-profit field.Communications:Sees that the board is kept fully informed on the condition of the organization and all important factors influencing it.Identifies potential risks and opportunities within the organization and its environment to protect business interests.Publicizes the activities of the organization, its programs and goals to increase awareness.Establishes sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations.Represents the programs and point of view of the organization to corporations, agencies, and the general public.Team Leadership:Responsible for the recruitment, employment, and release of all personnel, including paid staff, contractors and volunteers.Ensures job descriptions are developed, that regular performance evaluations are conducted, and that sound human resource practices are in place.Builds an effective management team with appropriate provision for succession.Encourages staff and volunteer development and education, and assist program staff in relating their specialized work to the total program of the organization.Maintains a climate that attracts and keeps a staff motivated by TAMEs missionBudget and Finance:Oversees fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach private, public, and philanthropic foundations, and various donor bases. Responsible for overseeing the cultivation and solicitation of funders, which may include submitting grants proposals, meeting with donors, and administrating fundraising records and documentation on behalf of the organization.Works with the Finance Committee, and the board to prepare the annual budget and monthly financial reports to ensure that the organization operates within budget guidelines.Ensures proper stewardship of donors is a priority. Builds close, posit ve and effective relationships with potential donors and prospects, clearly articulating the case for making a donation to TAME. In partnership with board, identifies and cultivates prospective donors, maintaining contact system and tracking progress. Ensures all donor benefits promised in a given period are delivered.Jointly, with the treasurer, ensures that internal controls and financial checks and balances are in place, oversee/supervise all bookkeeping, accounting, and financial activities, and establish rigorous accountability standard for grant and budget tracking. Additionally, ensures that independent financial audit and 990 submissions are conducted annually.
