Newell Brands Sr. Manager, Quality Management Excellence and Engineering in Atlanta, Georgia

Role Overview:

The Senior Manager, QME and Engineering will develop a standardized Quality Management Excellence (QME), and support deployment across Newell Brands global manufacturing network. It will be integrated as part of our global continuous improvement framework and operating system, PEAK (Planning, Engagement, Achievement, and Knowledge). The candidate will work in a dynamic, fast-growing environment driving incremental change with positive results. Newell Brands Supply Chain includes a focus on driving productivity through building capability in people, processes, and technology.

This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality process excellence within our organization. Expertise in quality engineering, statistical process control, and quality tools will be instrumental in driving improvement and maintaining operational excellence within the global PEAK framework.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and framework for global QME requirements to control process that prevent defects, improve capability, and reduce variation. Must integrate in a TPM environment and leverage quality engineering principles and tools.

  • Develop a standardized global PEAK QME pillar and implementation roadmap for all manufacturing sites.

  • Be the global authority on the QME quality engineering capabilities and standards ensuring effective consistent deployment across all manufacturing sites. Oversee the development, improvement, and maintenance of QME engineering systems (SPC, Process Capability Analysis, Statistical Sampling, Gage R&R, Hypothesis Testing, DOE, etc.).

  • Collaborate with all levels of Supply Chain leaders to develop and deploy QME.

  • Build a framework to gather consumer insight data from various sources (customer feedback, ratings & reviews, carelines, surveys, etc.) to enable analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

  • Use and deploy consumer insights data to drive quality process improvements in the manufacturing sites.

  • Translate consumer insights into actionable strategies for enhancing product quality, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.

  • Create PowerBI visualizations and dashboards by extracting meaningful information from complex data sets to inform decision-making improvements in the supply chain operations.

  • Drive SPC techniques that monitor and control manufacturing processes, ensuring consistency.

  • Develop and deploy a proactive quality assurance with integration of statistical quality engineering to drive process control and capability closely linked with the TPM principles.

  • Provide leadership integrating QME into the other PEAK PACS of the global PEAK operating system.

  • Foster a PEAK QME culture building capabilities in people and processes throughout all manufacturing sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related science, Business or Management

  • Expertise in quality system standards and deployment

  • 7+ years of operations/Manufacturing experience, preferably in consumer products

  • ISO/QS/TS/QME quality programs knowledge and experience mandatory

  • Expertise and experience in quality engineering and systems is required (statistics, reliability and sampling)

  • ASQ certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Manager (CQM) is preferred

  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work in a matrix organization

  • Strong networking skills and ability to lead and influence others at all levels of the organization

  • Experience with TPM, Six Sigma, or Lean based systems or similar

  • Travel requirements about 40% of normal professional working environment
